Cook County Perimeter Metro

16 October, 2015

The perimeter metro comes to Chicago!

In this WEBEO, I propose a perimeter metro line running though the western and southern suburbs of Chicago, linking with prominent places like O'Hare airport, five Metra Lines, and several highways, as well as the High Speed Rail line a proposed, linking to New York City. This proposal will drastically reduce cross-suburb traffic in the Chicagoland, thus decongesting highways and shortening commute times. This is a perimeter metro with electrification and a top speed of 100mph. However, almost all of this will be built on freight track, where two tracks will be dedicated for the metro and the other two will remain for goods trains. The line is 29 miles long.

Stations: O'Hare Airport, Schiller Park, Franklin Park, North Avenue, Bellwood, Bellwood: I-290, Westchester, Brookfield, Summit, Bedford Park, Ford City, Ashburn, Ashland Avenue, Park Manor, and Chicago Sough.
