Erie Express Rail (Cleveland to Detroit)

17 July, 2015

A high speed, low cost, train line connecting the cities of Lake Erie!

In this Webeo, I propose a high speed diesel, using upgraded Amtrak tracks, to connect the Cleveland area with Detroit. The line's top speed will be 230 km/h (143 mph), and will require minimal upgrading, except some minor curve straightening in certain high speed sections. The line is already a double track, grade separated system, so the cost to implement such a system will be minimal. The only new section on the line will be the final tunnel connecting the existing line to downtown Detroit. This line will be a segment of a future NY to Chicago mega-high speed line.

Stops = Painesville, Eastlake, Euclid, East Cleveland, Cleveland Central, Lakewood, Cleveland Airport, Elyria, Vermilion, Sandusky, Port Clinton, Toledo Central, North Toledo, Monroe, Rockwood, Wyandotte, River Rouge, Detroit West, Detroit Central (In Tunnel).
