Pune Metro Rail (Line 1)

Flutter over and under the daunting streets of Pune!

This WEBEO explores the posisbility of a metro rail line in the city of Pune, the 9th largest city in India. Pune is growing at an astonishing rate, especially westward of the old city (Peth) area, yet its infrastructure is woefully undeveloped in its suburbs, particularly in that no rail transport whatsoever operates in suburban Pune, apart from the main railway line in the northern periphery. This line aims to solve the problems in both outer and inner Pune by decongesting roads of "scooties," decreasing pollution, and making travel in pune for both locals and tourists more enjoyable.

The line will be mostly elevated until the Mutha River, where it goes underground through the old city, past the railway station, before ending at Koregaon Park.

Stations: Bhusari, Bharti Nagar, Shastri Nagar, Rambaug Colony, Karve, Erandwane, Deccn Gymkhana, Laxmi West, Narayan Peth, Budhwar Peth, Rasta Peth, Somwar Peth, Railway Station, Wadia College, Bund Garden, Koregaon Park.
