  • Optimized a disabled-life reserve model’s reliability and performance through testing and comparing algorithm design in the Prophet financial modeling software with an Excel/VBA-based model replicator

Long-Term Projects

DLR OPTIMIZED RESERVE TABULATOR

Last summer at my internship with Unum, I optimized code which tabulated reserve requirements for 980,000 claimants in the Prophet financial modeling system. I was able to reduce runtime of departmental testing by ~4 hours across an 18-month validation period using this algorithm.

EXCEL-BASED INVESTMENT SIMULATION

I worked with other exec members and the general body of the Penn State Real Estate Society to develop an interactive VBA-based simulation on estate and asset investments. This lead to increased interest in the Society and involvement with deeper-level projects that we do.

WAVE-PARTICLE DUALITY RESEARCH

Published 5-week long research project at Carnegie Mellon University, through the Pennsylvania Governor's School for the Sciences (11% admit rate, 60 students per year attend).
