WELCOME,
My name is Atharv Gupte, and I am the founder of the blog In-Map-Bitants. My belief is that our world lives on one giant map, and using a special set of binoculars to unlock this new dimension of humanity
As I have been a connoisseur of maps and city drawings since my childhood, to the point that my tiny 90 sq. ft. room was injured with paper crumbs, and drawers buckling under the heat of tangles of pen ink. Not only that, my room itself was what I called a "transportation tangle," filled with intersections of Thomas the Tank Engine, Hot Wheels, and even the occasional Barbie Car. (Yes I used Barbie houses to simulate streetfront main-street shops!)
But one day, I asked myself: who is Thomas, who is Barbie? Well, these were simply just representations of our real world! So I set myself out on bike rides around town, ranging from the luxurious Trexler Estates to the intersection of 9th and Turner in "Old Town," fitting each neighborhood and its characteristics into one bigger picure. While I do currently understand more about humanity's organization than before my explorations, I still dwell in my 90 sq. foot cave of streaks ranging from red to violet (the long way around), churning out really how our cavernous world functions. My daily struggles in skyscrapers of cartography failures, staring into the doorsteps of those "few-and-far-between" Partean columns of true discovery are what happens to be depicted throughout this blog.
