Bergen County Commuter Rail

14 November, 2014

Part two of my North Jersey Rail series. Click here to watch part 1.

In this video, I discuss the various improvements that the existing Bergen county lines should undergo when directly connected to the new Hudson river tunnel. From two tracks, high level platforms, express service, and electrification, all of it is discussed here. However, two new rail lines will be formed on existing tracks, which saves time, money, and homes. These four lines will complement each other into making Bergen county a viable suburb of New York City Commuters.

Station List on new lines:
West Hudson Line: Penn Station, Tonnelle Ave, Ridgefield, Palisades Park, Leonia, Englewood, Tenafly, Cresskill, Demarest, Sparkill, Blauvelt, Central Nyack, Valley Cottage, Congers, Haverstraw, Stony Point (38.17 miles)

West Bergen Line: Penn Station, Secaucus Junction, Kingsland, Lyndhurst, Delawanna, Passaic, Clifton, Paterson, Hawthorn Centre, Midland Park, Wyckoff, Franklin Lakes, Oakland, Pompton Lakes, Butler (29.13 miles)

Stations on Main Line and Pascack valley line will remain the same but upgraded.
